black death docter: A plague doctor was a medical physician who treated victims of the bubonic plague. In times of epidemics, these physicians were specifically hired by towns where the plague had taken hold. However, some plague doctors were known to charge patients and their families additional fees for special treatments or false cures.

black death: In the Middle Ages, plague was known as the "Black Death.". It caused the death of 60% of the population of Europe during a pandemic (an epidemic of human disease that has spread through a large geographic area). Transmission occurs via fleas that feed on infected animals, typically wild rodents. |
