In the middle ages it was very rare that serfs were

  literate. Only the people that usually were literate

  were nobles and princes. 

 Most people that were educated 

 were taught in cathedrals or churches.

 Grammar schools were very similar to 

schools established by the Romans

They were taught mainly Latin Grammar and they were taught

logic which is the art of arguing and also rhetoric the art of public speaking.
